Google has sealed a deal with Luxottica, the makers of the popular sun glass brands Ray-Ban and Oakley, to start producing new versions of the Google Glass eye wear. This is just one more of the many ventures that Google has taken to not only be the modern day innovators that we all are coming to love but also to continuously stay ahead of the competition and in my personal opinion, continue to take over the industries of Software, Web Browsing, Innovation, Cloud Computing and so much more.

So what exactly is Google Glass?

Google Glass is wearable computer (worn as a pair of glasses/sunglasses) with an OHMD (Optical Head Mounted Display). Google Glass basically brings the technology seen in movies such as “The Matrix” or “Men in Black” to reality. Simply put on your glasses and you too can be Matrix.

• Take a picture
• Record exactly what you see
• Share what you are looking at with others
• See your directions (GPS) through your eyes in Google Glasses hologram type display
• Speak to send messages or switch apps
• Ask your Google Glasses a question
• Get answers/descriptions/explanations simply by looking at something
• Use Google Glass as a voice translator to communicate in other languages
• And the list goes on as well as changes almost daily as Google Innovators work to improve Google Glass

Currently, it is projected that for around only $225, anyone can own a pair of these futuristic glasses. With the new agreement between Google and Luxottica, not only will you soon be able to own these glasses, but you will be able to look stylish when wearing them. In addition to the stylish options in our near future, Google is working with another company to try and add Google Glass to prescription eye wear. I even read somewhere that Google has researchers are exploring ways to one day add Google Glass to contacts.
